Education was the heart of Aidlink’s work in 2018. Our programmes in Kenya and Uganda ensured children, especially girls, were in school and our unique Immersion Programme connected communities in Africa and Ireland.

24 schools in Kenya and Uganda were provided with improved water and sanitation infrastructure, reaching approximately 8,500 children and their families.

The Annual Report highlights the impact of the cut in budget on Uganda; but also the increased programme activity in Kenya, particularly Turkana.

“In challenging times, Aidlink is bringing experience and learning from our most successful programmes to new communities; and connecting people, particularly young people, in order to build a greater understanding of the challenges and impact of global development and the actions required to create sustainable change.” Anne Cleary, Aidlink CEO
